Stallone mentioned on Leno last night that later this year, he will release a directors cut of Rambo, and give it the original title of, John Rambo. Fine with me, I'll own both versions because this movie kicked so much ass. So save your money kids, next Tuesday Rambo comes to DVD and Blu Ray. Go buy it. Thank you.

Random Villains DVD Picks Of The Week, Commando, Predator- all about Arnold
Today we get on DVD a bunch of crap pretty much. Juno, which for some reason everyone in the world loved, I didn't see what was so special about it. We got Lars And The Real Girl which is about the dude from The Notebook who falls in love with a blow up doll or some shit. Alien Vs Predator Requiem, Before The Devil Knows Your Dead, In The Name Of The King A Uwe Boll Siege, and a bunch of other shit, so is there anything GOOD coming out today?!
Well if you are a queer with an X Box 360, no.
If you are a bad ass with a Playstation 3 or Blu Ray player, FUCK YES.
Today brings us the releases of.... yeah, these should be the only 2 DVDs today that matter. I went and bought my copies this morning. I will be having Shwarzenegger night.

Warner Bros. Chooses Blu Ray!
Warner was the last major studio left that was releasing titles on both formats but, Blu Ray has won the bidding war and Warner has no joined the likes of Disney and will only be releasing their movies on Blu Ray starting June 2008. This comes just a month after HD had its big Black Friday sale of 169 dollar HD DVD players... and even with that sale, Blu Ray costing way more, outsold HD DVD players 2 to 1. And for the 52nd week in a row, Blu-ray Disc software has outsold HD-DVD software. For the last week of 2007, the margin was reportedly 61 to 39 according to Neilsen/VideoScan. This means Blu-ray software sales have outpaced those of HD-DVD for the entire calendar year of 2007, with no signs of slowing down.
Blu-ray now has 70% exclusive access to Hollywood studio content. Expect this Blu Ray vs HD DVD war to come to an end this year, with Blu Ray coming out on top. Universal and Paramount are HD only, but expect them to make a jump at some point. Either way, I am good to go, I own both HD DVD and Blu Ray players. And personally, I side with Blu Ray.

HD Vs. Blu Ray: Blu Ray Wins!
I have been looking up on both these new types of DVD. Trying to figure out which will come out on top. My parents own an HD player. I own a Blu Ray player (PS3). My parents and I even own the same type of TV. An HD DLP from Samsung. Of course Mine is only a 50 inch, theirs is 60. Psh. Anyways the picture quality kinda looks the same, the sound quality is about the same. So whats the big difference? Well size. You know the 2nd disk of special features you get with special edition DVDs? Well Blu Ray will never have a 2nd disk. Because everything from that 2nd disk can fit onto 1 disk with everything from the 1st disk. So if you're done watching the movie, no need to throw in the 2nd disk to check out special features. (Remember Laserdisk? Oy vey.) But even still people have wondered which will end up coming out the winner? Well the winner has been decided. Not by us, buy by Disney.

Now I do not think that DVD will be gone, I am sure DVD will be around for a long long time and will still remain the top format for home entertainment. But when it comes to HD vs Blu Ray. I think Blu Ray is tops. Blu Ray 1. HD DVD 0.

When DVD was also questioned, Disney put out Snow White And The Seven Dwarves and well, DVD pretty much erased the existence of VHS. And now Disney plans on releasing Sleeping Beauty onto Blu Ray next Fall. Now I do not think that DVD will be gone, I am sure DVD will be around for a long long time and will still remain the top format for home entertainment. But when it comes to HD vs Blu Ray. Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment (WDSHE) announced Friday more innovations in the Blu-ray format with the studio's first ever Platinum Blu-ray release, the studio's first BD-Live title, and full motion picture-in-picture Blu-ray bonus features.
The studio announced the first animated Platinum coming to Blu-ray will be the timeless treasure Sleeping Beauty. Releasing Sleeping Beauty on Blu-ray marks a milestone for the format as these titles are not released until a format has been proven both technologically and in terms of consumer acceptance - and Disney's animated releases in the past have been a major catalyst for any format's growth. Pinocchio's release on VHS and Snow White's release on DVD marked major growth milestones for both of those formats. The Sleeping Beauty Blu-ray Disc release will also include a virtual castle and multi-player activities - both utilizing the BD-Live technology.
"The Platinum titles are the crown jewels of the Disney Studios and we do not take releasing them lightly on any format. The proven Blu-ray technology has allowed us to take our films to new heights, fully utilizing the larger capacity and interactive capabilities for an incredible all-new consumer experience," commented Bob Chapek, President of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.
In addition, WDSHE announced the special edition release of the action-adventure blockbuster National Treasure, which will become the studio's first BD-Live Blu-ray Disc title. In addition, the studio will bring two of its treasured family classics to Blu-ray Disc, Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, both of which will feature full motion picture-in-picture bonus features.
"The strides that we've made with this format are just the tip of the iceberg and we are confident that consumers will be astounded by the level of entertainment that can only be achieved by using the maximum capacity of the Blu-ray Disc format. All of these wonderful titles will appeal to the ever growing Blu-ray market and we are extremely proud to offer these in the most pristine and robust presentations ever for Disney fans around the globe," continued Chapek.
This exciting slate of Blu-ray Disc releases will begin with The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in spring 2008, followed by National Treasure in summer of 2008 and culminating with Disney/Pixar's Finding Nemo and Sleeping Beauty in fall 2008.
