Why Do People Mock Juggalos?

So tonight I saw this documentary titled "American Juggalo," which takes a look at the "subculture of Juggalos" by attending the Insane Clown Posse's yearly "Gathering of the Juggalos" event.  The whole point was to go and let the Juggalos speak for themselves, since they are often mocked, misunderstood, whatever.  For those of you who are fortunate enough to NOT know what a "Juggalo" is, it is the name for the fans or "family" as they call themselves of the Insane Clown Posse.

Going back to 2 years ago, our very own site even listed Juggalos as the number 1 most annoyingly idiotic people on the planet.  I don't even know what to say about them, the documentary says it all.  It seems they are trying to be the new age Woodstock, with free love, drugs, and alcohol flowing which makes them "SUPER bad asses."  It also seems like they are outcasts that no one else likes, so they just band together and say "fuck the world" and they think that somehow makes them cool.  And the women?  Yikes.  Somehow talking trashy, looking trashy, and in some cases just being totally naked right out in the open makes them "free."  Seems like "Trashstock" or "Gathering of the Wanna-Be Gangstas" would be a more fitting name for this event.

Now don't get me wrong, I think the Insane Clown Posse themselves are smart.  They created characters that were appealing, gained a huge following, and make all kinds of money.  Just because they draw this group of hillbilly/wannabe gangsta outcast fans doesn't mean they won't take their money.  Somehow I highly doubt Shaggy 2 Dope or Violent J would ever hang with any of these "people," and maybe after viewing "American Juggalo" below, you will see WHY people mock them.

Rihanna Debuts New Single "We Found Love" - Owns iTunes

The news of the day in the music world today was the debut of Rihanna's new single "We Found Love," which is the first single off her NEW album that will hit in November.  That's right, Rihanna just debuted the video for "Cheers" which is off her current "Loud" album, yet she already has a new album on the way.

It seems like ever since she got her face punched by Chris Brown, Rihanna has been determined to change her image to being the baddest and raunchiest bitch anywhere.  Really, the only good thing that came out of that relationship were Rihanna's leaked nude pics.  But now she is she sexing things up as much as possible, and releasing album after album, all of which have produced multiple hits.  Looks like she's not slowing down at all, as this new album is on the way even though she is still on the Loud Tour (currently in Brazil ass (oops I mean as) seen on the right) which just launched over the summer.

"We Found Love" dropped earlier today, and now just hours later it is in the iTunes top 10, already surpassing "Cheers" on the list.  Lady Gaga is the first person I think of when I think of the top female in music, but with Rihanna becoming the Queen of popularity on Facebook, and not too far behind Gaga on Twitter, Rihanna has quietly crept into position to be right up there as one of THE most popular women in entertainment.  The first single already kicked iTunes ass, the album will no doubt sell like crazy, and another tour will no doubt take place....take THAT Chris Brown.

Troy Davis Executed in Georgia

So I hopped on Twitter tonight to see if anything was going on in the world, and all I was seeing was a ton of talk about Troy Davis and Charles Manson and death......I really had no clue what the hell had happened but thought maybe Manson had kicked the bucket in jail.

As it turns out, I was unaware that death row inmate Troy Davis had garnered such a huge following to that point that even celebrities were on Twitter supporting the stoppage of his execution.  Davis was convicted of murdering an off duty police officer back in 1989, but claimed he was innocent right up until his death.  I was unaware of all the details of the story, but an article on his execution on Fox News did a good job of catching me up on all the details.

With such an uproar caused by all this, with protesters outside the prison and even people calling for President Obama to get involved, it's crazy they went ahead and carried this out.  Davis had avoided execution since 2007, but it seemingly could no longer be avoided, or at least that's how things were viewed in Georgia.  The reason Charles Manson was also trending is that many have said it was insane to think that someone like Manson could still be alive but Davis had to be executed.  It seems many don't realize that Manson didn't actually murder anyone, so that pretty much ends that convo.

What are your opinions on Troy Davis?  Will he be remembered as an icon that shouldn't have been executed?  Or was he someone that had a record and was involved with the wrong crowd which ultimately lead to his incarceration?  Share in comments below.

Ryan Dunn Jokes at Charlie Sheen Roast. Steve O is Not Amused.

Tonight the Charlie Sheen Roast aired on Comedy Central. And everyone has lost their minds over the Ryan Dunn joke that Amy Schumer said.

Hard to hear, but basically she jokes that we all wished that it was Steve O who died instead of Ryan Dunn. And as you saw, Steve O was not amused.

As a fan of both Ryan Dunn, and of these Roasts, I see nothing wrong with it. It's a ROAST. There is no such thing as too far. Because you see, here is a little something that not many people are aware of.

"The last time this many nobodies got roasted at least the band Great White was playing."

That right there, was a quote from Steve O, who made a joke about the people who died in the Station Nightclub Fire back in 2003. You know, that one where the pyros from Whitesnake set the place on fire, killing 100 people, and injuring a couple hundred. Comedy Central of course yanked that joke.

So don't feel bad for ol Steve O.

Foo Fighters Counter Protest Westboro. Stop it.

Listen, I hate Westboro just like everyone else, but this kind of stuff has to stop. The "counter protesting" of them. Check out the video below...

Now, its all funny and awesome, but at the same time if you think that Westboro is getting all upset and pissed about this type of stuff, then you're wrong. After hearing actual interviews with former members of Westboro and reading about Kevin Smiths interactions with them while taking his movie Red State on tour I learned that doing counter protests actually helps them. They love it. That type of video above is EXACTLY what they want. They want the hate, they want the attention, they want that type of publicity. If no one knew who they were, or cared about who they were, then they wouldn't be out doing their idiotic protests anymore because there would be no point.

Even with this post, I am giving them their attention and publicity. But this needs to be spread, if we really want to shut them up, then we need to shut up. Ignore them.

Mayweather makes boxing relevant again, owns Ortiz

First, the video....

Now, everyone is whining and crying about how what Mayweather did was cheap and dirty. Um, was it Mayweather who was throwing a HEADBUTT? No, Ortiz throws one, gets caught, Mayweather gives him some payback. Don't come up and try to hug it out while the fight is still going on. What Mayweather did was also legal! If someone came up to you, and threw a headbutt into your face, and then said oh man Im so sorry. Would you punch them square in the nose? Or just hug it out and go buy some ice cream?

Dont forget this is also in the sport of BOXING. You know, that sport that no one ever talks about anymore. So on top of it all, Mayweather also made boxing relevant again. Everyone is talking about this, most are all upset and pissed that Mayweather threw some punches in the middle of a boxing ring while the round was still going on. Maybe if Ortiz wasn't and idiot and realized the round was still going on he would have protected himself instead of tried to give hugs?

Mayweather is awesome. What he did was not dirty or cheap. What Ortiz did was dirty and cheap. Dont throw an illegal move and then try to apologize for it. Or else you will get punched in the face. Twice. Really hard.

Greatest Car Accident Description Ever.

So I am sitting here in my office doing some stuff online and the Fox 10 Phoenix news is on in the background and I hear someone begin talking, and, wow. There was a car accident and one of the cars hit a pole causing power lines to come down on one of the cars and into the road. Sounds kinda boring and blah right? Yeah well, listen to this awesome guy describe how things went down and its more like 2012 just happened.

Scarlett Johansson Nude Pics? Yes Please.

Well DevonLohan.com has only been back a short while, and already the Internet is buzzing about leaked naked pic scandals and such.  Of course this one is a pretty big deal since it involves Scarlett Johansson.  I think these leaked pic scandals are basically payback for these actresses that want to flaunt how hot they are while at the same time reminding us how they will never get naked and show us the goods in movies or magazines or anything.

Of course Scarlett is supposedly pissed and trying to get this investigated and what not, but she should probably just realize all the attention she's getting and go do a major nude scene and make money off it.  The cell phone pics that were allegedly hacked are pics that she took herself using a mirror and such, which seems to be the popular thing to do in Hollywood no matter how many leaks or hacks go down.

Check out NSFW Celebs for the full story on the Scarlett Johansson leaked nude pics.

Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme Confirmed for Expendables 2

The Expendables was the movie that took us back to the bad ass era of 80's action.  Finally instead of saying "damn, why aren't there awesome action movies and stars like there were in the 80's?" we were able to say "OH, here is the movie we need, and here are most of the 80's action stars too!"  Even though Sylvester Stallone put together the most awesome group of action stars ever, there were a still a few of missing 80's action icons that were either too busy or weren't interested or whatever.  They should've known that if Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis were in, the whole deal was going to be massive .

Now that The Expendables 2 is set to hit theaters in 2012, Stallone is making sure this one kicks our ass all over again, and the first step is confirming both Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme for the sequel.  Stallone confirmed with Entertainment Weekly that Norris and Van Damme were in, and that a much anticipated showdown with Stallone and Van Damme would finally happen.

So with Norris and Van Damme rounding out the list of icons, combined with Schwarzenegger, Willis, and most of the original cast returning, and rumors of John Travolta and Nicholas Cage possibly being added as well....this sequel could be the be all end all of 80's action, and is definitely already on our most anticipated list for 2012.

Did True Blood Blow Its Load Too Early?

The top shows on TV have been the hot topic since DevonLohan.com's return, so I figured I would chime in on something I've thought about lately.  Way back in 2008, we speculated that True Blood was the best show on cable.  At the time it was this cool fresh idea that had a small Louisiana town that had vampires living alongside humans, almost like a semi-accepted separate race.  Vampires had "Tru Blood" to drink, which was a synthetic "beer" type drink that had been created to replace human blood for them, therefore making them able to live alongside humans.

The story was unique, and many fans were hooked right away.  Of course you had "good" and "bad" vampires, with the characters of Bill and Eric being the main power struggle in their town of Bon Temps at the time.   Along the way we found out the main character "Sookie" (Anna Paquin) had some unidentified special powers as well, which added some intrigue.  The show also had some good side stories and characters, was heavy on sex and nudity, and had plenty of twists and turns that made for one of the most talked about new shows that quickly developed a loyal fan base that has grown and grown.

The question I ask is, has the show blown it's load too early?  What I mean by that, and if you watch the show you know what I'm talking about, has TOO much happened now and is there too much going on to the point where the show can only go on for a couple more seasons?  We started out with the simple formula of vampires and humans.  Since then over 4 seasons we've been introduced to shape shifters, werewolves, fairies, mediums, witches, were.....panthers (yeah), a Mexican, gay, "brujo" (which looked more like a guy in a Mexican wrestling mask to me) and other creatures that aren't even identifiable.  Things really came to a head at the conclusion of this past season when I'm seeing the vampire crew with bazookas and guns.....really?  Vampires who have all these powers and speed and such, need guns?

It's come to the point where there is SO much going on it's a task to keep up with who is on who's side, who is from who's past, who is dead and who is alive - and trying to remember what season the dead who come back are from etc.  I realize the whole story is based on the books by Charlaine Harris, so most of these things happened at some point in the original story, but the pace seems pretty frantic on the show.  Keep in mind we also get treated to regular flashbacks from hundreds of years ago explaining different characters origins, so it's a lot to digest.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the show but I'm asking if the show has given us so much that soon it will come to a "what else can we do?" point.  Maybe it's because they know the actors will age over time and they know they have to wrap things up before that happens to protect the
vampire image.  If not for that factor, the show could be drawn out and these stories told at a pace that would make everything more impactful.

So what do you think?  Is True Blood just too "out there" now with all the crazyness?  Or are you happy with how the show is evolved and will be fulfilled if the show only goes for a couple more seasons?

Breaking Bad Seasons 1-3 now on Netflix Instant!

Breaking Bad is one of the very best shows on TV today. A close 2nd place behind SAMCRO. So seeing it hit Netflix Instant is awesome because I know a lot of people who have yet to watch this show. Why? No idea. It beats the pants off of that awful HBO True Blood crap. Good grief what an awful season, again. Drop that zero, and get with a hero. Breaking Bad will be your hero.

Not only was the above clip NOT a mistake. But it was actually accomplished on the very first take. All hail the ultimate pizza thrown, Bryan Cranston.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone teach you about writing in 2 minutes on MTVU.com

I've been in creative writing for a long time now. I've taken classes, read books, all there is to learn more and more about it. So it is quite funny when out of the hours you can spend in class, and in reading books, South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker can come in, and in 2 minutes teach you something that could change the way you write your stories and scripts forever.
The below video is just the preview as well. The full episode comes out October 3rd on MTVu.com on the show Stand In.

Jenny McCarthy in a blue bikini still has IT.

Back in the days of high school in the 90s, Jenny McCarthy was the girl I had on the walls in my bedroom. And yet more than 10 years later, she is still the girl that is deserving of every teenagers wall. She is just a year and change away from hitting 40 years old, and she is still hotter than most 20 somethings today. Not many hot celebrities survived the 90s and the 00s. But Jenny has.

Red State Review

Back when I was a little lad, my life was changed forever at my parents video store when a box of screeners from Miramax came along which included both Pulp Fiction, and Clerks. The moment I saw Clerks I was instantly hooked and a Kevin Smith fan from then on out. Some 15 give or take a couple years later, he has announced he is only doing two more movies before hanging it up. Red State, and Hit Somebody.

Now even though I have been a huge fan of Kevin Smith, I am also a horror movie geek. So when I first heard the news of both those worlds coming together, I felt a shift in my bowels. Red State never played in any theatres here in AZ, so I had to count the days to Sept 1st. When it would finally arrive in iTunes and VOD.

Red State is the first movie in a very, very long time that took my totally by surprise. There are no heroes, there are no typical movie moments. It is one of those rare movies that you have no clue as to where things might lead, and anything can and does happen at any moment. You get introduced to a new character to only have them wiped out seconds later. I avoided all reviews, boards, threads, tweets, articles, everything I could to try to remain as spoiler free as I could going into the movie so I am keeping this review of it the same. If you are a Kevin Smith fan, you will love this movie. If you are not a Kevin Smith fan, you will love this movie. It has moments where I literally sat up out of my damn recliner and said "holy shit" out loud to myself and thought about pausing the movie or just, doing something because I was taken so off guard by what had happened I didn't know what to do with myself. All bets are off in this movie.

The acting in this is stellar. Even if a character has just a couple minutes of screen time, they are remembered for those few brief moments. This entire cast deserves a standing O.

Red State is disturbing, its fresh, its possibly the best movie of 2011. And quite possibly the best movie of Kevin Smiths career. It is a damn shame and makes a fan like myself sad to see someone I have watched grow as a film maker take a huge risky leap and accomplish such an achievement knowing that they are going to be doing no more.

Kevin Smith no longer making films, is a huge loss to the movie world. Mainly because there needs to be more people like him making movies today.
