Ryan Reynolds cast to play Deadpool, In Wolverine movie!

AICN reports that Ryan Reynolds will be suiting up to play anti-hero Deadpool in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" currently in production.

This has got to be the best news I've fuckin read all week. And it's only Tuesday!

Reynolds has been attached to both the role of Deadpool and The Flash in their own films for some time, but Deadpool's appearance in the "X-Men" spin-off is expected to be our first glimpse at the red and grey suited sword-swinging assassin.

Deadpool was always my favorite action figure as a kid, cuz you could pull his mask off, and he looked like a white raisin. Plus he came with like 8 weapons. (As you can see in the picture)

Leading up to the events of X-Men, "Wolverine" tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe.

Meanwhile Superhero Hype repors that "Friday Night Lights" star Taylor Kitsch has signed a three-picture deal to play Gambit (AKA Remy LeBeau). The pair join Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Danny Huston (William Stryker) and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox) in the 20th Century Fox release opening May 1st 2009.

Fuckin aye, people. Gambit, Sabretooth, Stryker, and Silver Fox along with Deadpool and Wolverine?!?! This movie is gonna kick so much fucking ass!

  1. This pleases me. Even though the title of the blog should be about Gambit, since Gambit is way fuckin cooler than Deadpool.

  2. Gambit is indeed cooler than Deadpool, but Ryan Reynolds is cooler than some dude from Friday Night Lights.

So Deadpool wins by that measure alone.

  3. Deadpool is so cool! He'll totally steal the spotlight from Wolverine, though.
