The Devon Lohan Review: Star Trek

So where do I start, because this one is epic... or at least the movie is epic, so epic that I'm not sure how to even put it in to words. I probably won't do my usual style of review, because I really don't want to give anything away. I just want to stress to you, rather you be a fan of Star Trek or not, that this movie is all kinds of awesome. It was the complete package, hands down. I don't have one single complaint, except that maybe there just wasn't enough Simon Pegg... but that's not even a big deal. He just took a bit to show up. This new-ish guy, Chris Pine, just solidified himself as a major movie star I think. He held up to the job and did a really superb job. He's absolutely believable as Kirk. Zach Quinto as Spock... holy shit. Zach Quinto is nuts. His Spock is nuts. I mean, in all reality, everyone in every role was fantastic. Simon Pegg was spot on Scotty, Anton Yelchin was great as Chekov, fucking John Cho was the shit as Sulu... but Karl Urban... that dude NAILED Dr. "Bones" McCoy. I mean.. every nuance and maneurism was SPOT ON. It was a lot of fun to watch! Eric Bana is pretty one dimensional, and his Nero isn't that dynamic, but he's a decent enough villain with a decent enough reason to be. Not many chicks in the movie, just Uhura, who doesn't serve too much of a purpose for the most part, she's here and there, but didn't feel all that integral to me. Her stuff with Spock could be I suppose. Solid cast though, hopefully they're all back for any sequels that will surely get made.

Saw the movie in IMAX, and I can't imagine seeing it any other way. You could literally feel the warp drive scenes, so suffice to say it was intense. The plot is really strong and consistent. I can't complain at all about any kind of continuity issues or plot holes. It's all done so masterfully, it's kind of funny to think that these are the same guys working on LOST and Fringe.

Maybe tomorrow I'll get up a full review, but I don't know that I can say much else other than this movie is a MUST SEE event for everyone, not just the Trekkies. I can't wait to see it again!

Devon Lohan Likes!

I figure I need to be more active, and I can do this from my laptop at night on the couch, beer within reach. I'm gonna try out a new weekly column (history will show I've always failed at this), and just point out some things I really like at the moment. So here goes.

  1. I Love You, Man - Saw this tonight and I can't say enough good about it. Probably Paul Rudd's funniest movie to date, and definitely a big step up for Jason Segal from that Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I wish I could forget the awful date I went on to see that movie. Fuck.
  2. TV Show Finales - Big Love, Eastbound & Down, and Battlestar Galactica*. Frak, this past weekend was packed with some TV season finales, and in one case *series finale. My neighbor is watching the news on his back patio and just burped really loud. It echoed. Wtf? But anyways, all three shows put on a .... show. BSG wrapped up nicely, kind of like a cannoli. I'm sorry to see it go, but happy with how it did.
  3. http://www.344pounds.com/ - This dude is the shit. I'm following, and it's working. Seriously.
  4. My new iPod Touch. I didn't want an iPhone, because I hate AT&T service (funny all things considered) but I did want all the fun apps. So I got a touch, and it's fucking awesome. I'll probably do a whole separate post about it... so stay tuned or w/e.
  5. Pita Pit. Delicious, healthy, pitas... who could ask for more? Think Subway, but without bread that's been sitting out all day, you get a warm fresh pita. The Gyro is the best, with feta and olives. Mmmm.
  6. Heroes. Everyone is giving Heroes a lot of shit still, all these comic book indie nerds on the internet. But let me tell you something, Heroes is the fucking shit right now. Quit yer belly achin nerds, and fuck off with your Watchmen, and watch Heroes.
Yeah alright so there you go. Proceed with talking shit in the comments like a bunch of predictable cunts.

Kelly Clarkson... you're okay by me.

See there's a story here, Kelly Clarkson and I have never truly gotten along that well. In fact, a little while ago I would've probably said she was the female pop star who I liked the least, but ya know... times change, and people change, and something magical happened between me and Kelly Clarkson.

Fans of this blog, especially the ones that have stuck around for a while, probably know that I have an eclectic taste in music, usually exhalted and condemned by *cough* certain *cough* other writers here, but music is one of those things, where it shouldn't matter who or what you like, as long as it makes you happy. Music is a lot like love in that regard. Long story short, I like crappy music, I'll admit it, and I don't care because when I listen to it I feel better.

So how did it come to be that I hated Kelly Clarkson? Well, I always liked her on American Idol the first season, I even voted for her for the finale... but then she got all big and got all snotty and turned in to this big diva and when people do that kind of shit when they get famous it pisses me off... so I started to not like Kelly. Then, that Breakaway album came out and I really got so tired of constantly hearing every fucking song on that album everytime I turned on the radio or TV. It was soooo played out. THEN, I'm driving through Memphis right, rush hour traffic, and my roommate decides she wants to listen to some Kelly Clarkson... I had been making her listen to Rufus Wainwright or Bright Eyes I'm sure, so I thought it was fair to give her a turn... and what happens? I'm so disgusted by Kelly and this horrible cd that I got in a god damn wreck. I was bitching about how much it sucked and didn't even see some idiot with a trailer on his truck swerve in front of me and slam on the breaks. So that was it, I had had it with Kelly Clarkson. She was causing too much trouble.

Then a funny thing happened, she kinda fell of the radar, and I watched The 40 Year Old Virgin like 100 times and so her name kinda to me started to be funny. If I thought of Kelly Clarkson, I thought of Steve Carell screaming her name out and it would make me chuckle. Then I started seeing all these pictures of her and she's gotten kinda chubby and that made me laugh too. So Kelly started to work her way back in to my good graces. This week, my roommate got her hands on the new cd and wouldn't shut the fuck up about how awesome it was and how I needed to download and have a listen. So to shut her up, I decided I'd go ahead and give it a listen. I'll pretty much listen to anything anyone tells me to listen to, because I don't want to miss out on something I might like because I thought it sounded lame. Don't judge a book by it's cover sorta thing.
Here's the thing... this new cd is really good. It's kinda Katy Perry-ish. I can see a lot of singles coming off this cd and really probably being one of those summer soundtrack deals. She's not as dark and moody as her last couple albums and that's a good thing. I like the upbeat, up tempo songs. So anyways, I've gone on long enough about this as is, so just go download or buy or w/e this cd and then come back and sound off in the comments if you like it or not!

Whoops!

As many of you may have noticed we had some kind of error caused by Random Villain's look at how much Tyler Perry sucks. Apparently when you bash Queen Perry and his films your blog tries to die. Never fear, I quickly fixed the issue and all is back to normal.

You're welcome. :-p

Merry Christmas, from Devon Lohan.

It's that time of year, when we all settle in with our families and try and remember what the good stuff in life is all about. In today's society, it's a rare feat to go one day without being reminded of the constant struggles and hardships we all face from day to day, but for me Christmas is the one day when everything bad fades away and only the good is seen. Like many of you, my most cherished memories from childhood are of Christmases spent with my family. I can vividly remember every Christmas we spent together, the way the family all gathered together in the kitchen to cook, or sat around watching Christmas Vacation or A Christmas Story. I miss the days when I always got to play Santa on Christmas Eve, as we all gathered around the enormous tree, and the 100+ presents under it. Christmas was never a small deal in our family, we always strived to go bigger every year, until sometimes their were more presents than we had room for. I recall a particular year when they lined not just the living room, but the dining room, and halfway down the hall as well. That was a good year!

Times change, and in turn so do families. We move away from each other, and sometimes we're broken up by divorce or death, and eventually those Christmases we loved so dear become a thing of the past. So readers, I implore you to cherish these Christmases you have with the ones you love, because they might not always be around.

To my frenemy Random Villain, enjoy this first Christmas with your new baby Calvin, it will surely be one you'll always remember. To our other colleagues here, I wish you nothing but success and luck in your endeavours in the next year. To our readers, I thank you sincerely for continuing to come back to Devon Lohan and giving us a small audience to entertain with our antics. It's been a good year, and I think 2009 will be even better. Merry Christmas to everyone, and a Happy New Year too!

Where the Hell is Everybody?

I'm sure by now you're wondering where the staff of DevonLohan.com has disappeared to, but let me assure you we have not gone far. Unfortunately, I've been swamped at work training new hires for a company that just laid off 12,000 people, and in better news, our very own Random Villain became a proud papa! Congratulations to him and Mrs. Villain. Everyone else ... well ... who knows what they're doing?! Either way, we've all been a little busy!

Keep checking back though, we'll be back maybe as soon as this weekend! Thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving from Devon Lohan!

As we near our 1,000th post here at Devon Lohan, there's one thing we're definitely thankful for this year, and that's YOU our readers! Thanks for sticking with us through some of the growing pains and hard times we've had this past year, and thanks for coming back and giving us another shot time, and time again. We wouldn't be doing this, and couldn't do this, if it weren't for all of you.

So I can't speak for the others, but I'm taking the rest of the week off!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Twilight: The Official Devon Lohan Review

I'd like to preface this review by mentioning that, yes, I did read the books. However, unlike the majority of the fanbase for this film, I didn't read them starting a couple years ago. Instead, I actually didn't pick them up until I began to read all the fuss about this movie getting made, this past summer. I'm one of those people, that anytime I hear or read about something that a lot of people are keen on, I usually have to check it out and see what all the fuss was about. So before I ever opened the first book of the series, I had already been made privy to a plot outline, and had even a preliminary cast photo. This served well, as it helped me establish an idea of what the characters looked like in my head. I read the entire series picturing the players in my head as they would be portrayed on film. So without further ado, my Twilight review.

Before going to see the film last night, I read several online reviews, just to kind of get an idea in my head of what the movie would be like. I don't like to be disappointed, so I assume this would be a good way to set myself up for whatever result I would get. Imagine my surprise when I found the reviews to be a staunch 50/50 deadlock. Half of the reviews raved about how the movie met their every anticipation, and the other half picked it apart and analyzed every little nuance of every little detail. It was remarkable as well, that these reviews were blatantly split between the tween fangirls of this movie, and adults like myself, who picked up the books and ended up really liking the story. There's a different in there somewhere, between the fangirls, and the rest of us, and I'm still trying to figure that out. What makes them so ravenous about this film? I really enjoyed the books, but as you can see I made it until Monday night to see the movie without exploding. Some of the girls in the theater with me were there for the 3rd and 4th time! It's no wonder this flick made over 70 million at the box office! Suffice to say, I went in to the movie with an open mind, expecting to pick out of some of the same things all the 13 year olds are freaking out about, but also being able to formulate an opinion, as an intelligent movie lover. Here's where I stand.

The books are, in no uncertain terms, written moderately well by Stephanie Mayer (who has a brief cameo if you catch it). She's no Anne Rice, I'll tell you that much, but she does manage to capture a sort of magic in her books, that leaves you wanting more, and rushing out to pick the next one up. I bought the first three together on ebay and read them cover to cover, back to back. I waited a month, and the 4th and final book came out, and I tore through it in ONE sitting. So, you can imagine that the books hold up on their own, but as it goes in Hollywood, the movie adaptation doesn't necessarily replicate that success. So I wanted to come in to the movie with an objective mind, and view it as a film fan, and not a fan of the books. What I think is, Catherine Hardwicke, the director, is a one trick pony. If you've seen Catherine's previous work, 13 and Lords of Dogtown (both I really enjoyed) than you're probably familiar with her style of shooting. Lots of short close up bursts, and even more sweeping scene shots. Very little of the movie is shot in the traditional way, with the camera usually focusing in on smaller parts of the scene, or fluxing back and forth from zoom IN and zoom OUT. If I hadn't know already, I would've quickly assumed this was directed by the same person. I can't say it's all bad though, I was actually impressed with how the movie was a little more rough looking, as in not as polished and shiny as most movies on this subject. The more realistic look that Hardwicke uses was a good surprise and added a sense of realism. Also, big surprise Nikki Reed was casted in this flick. That makes her 3-0 for Catherine Hardwicke films. No favoritism showed there, eh? Not that I'm complaining, I've enjoyed Reed ever since she vamped it up in 13... no pun intended.

The film starts off much like the book, with Isabella Swan (played by Kristen Stewart) moving from Phoenix, Arizona to her new home in the small, cloud covered town of Forks, Washington, where Vampires come out in the daytime, protected by the low cloud ceiling. I was instantly impressed with just how much Forks leaped off the pages of the books to the big screen. It was just as I had imagined it while reading the books, and looked exactly how Stephanie Mayer described it. My only real complaint about the transition from book to movie was the way some things were shown out of order. I'm sure it's no easy task transferring a 500+ page book to a 2 hour movie, but with the way the film is laid out there's no reason the biggest mistakes in the movie had to be made. I'm referring to the character of Jacob Black, who turns up in the first ten minutes of the movie, where as in the book he doesn't appear until Bella and her friends spend a day at the beach... a scene that happens in the film, and in which Jacob appears. Why not just wait until then?

I also saw a lot of complaints about the acting, and maybe it's just me, but I thought the acting was really decent. I saw the movie with my roommate, and she complained that Kristen Stewart acts weird... to which I quickly informed her that Kristen Stewart played Bella to a T. She portrays the character exactly as she is written, even surpassing my expectations. There were parts of the movie that felt like deja vu to me, because they were acted out exactly as I had pictured them in my mind. Most of those scenes involved Kristen Stewart playing Bella. Robert Pattinson (of the Harry Potter films) does an excellent job as Edward. People have chastised his performance as being too intense, but I'm assuming their feeble pubescent minds can't grasp the concept of this guy, the character of Edward Cullen, being a Vampire who is falling in love with a girl who smells sweeter to him than any human he's ever encountered. He has to balance his desire to eat her alive, with his desire to be with her and protect her. In my opinion, Robert Pattinson does a spectacular job conveying the intensity of what Edward feels when Bella is in the room. He's never met anyone like her, and he has to juggle the fact that she is everything he wants, and at the same time everything he can't have. That's no easy feat to get across on screen. The scene in the lab where he smells her scent for the first time was terrific. The look on his face is of utter disgust, at least to Bella, but what he's really feeling is pure terror, because he doesn't know if he can control himself from leaping across the room and ripping her throat out. Leave R-Patz alone, girls, he's a fine actor in my book. I always liked that guy as Cedric Duggary anyway.

One other complaint that was frequent was about the graphics, or CG. See, here's the thing though... this movie isn't ABOUT graphics. It had no need for them, EXCEPT for the one thing it was used for... so to complain that there could have been more and better graphics is useless. I don't know what everyone expected, but what I saw on screen looked exactly like I would have imagined it looked like. In the books, Stephanie Mayer describes the way the skin glows as "shining like diamonds." So, what I imagined was skin that shimmered like diamonds in the sunlight, and what did I get? Skin, shimmering like a million diamonds, refracting light and glowing, in the sunlight. It was PERFECT. I read an interview with Robert Pattinson where he was asked about the CG and he said, "I haven't actually seen that yet. It is CG but I don't know what it's going to look like. That was one of the hardest things to do. We did like a thousand different ideas. We did this thing with flakes of salt and every single thing [they could think of]. I remember they painted one of the PA's blue, which was kind of a confused direction." For me, I can't imagine them doing anything else. The way Edward's skin glows is just like I pictured it. So shut up about that one already. The CG was fine, for what it was.

The supporting cast is surprisingly strong, but unfortunately the majority of the film centers around Bella and Edward. Again, this is an instance where the fangirls are flipping out that they dived right in to Bella and Edward falling in love, and again it's an instance where they are wrong. If this movie was 3 hours long, than yes, they could've slowed down, but it wasn't. The plain outline for this film is the relationship between Bella and Edward, so naturally they are going to consume the most screen time building up that plot. The supporting cast is great when they're on screen though. Bella's high school friends are acted out great, and lived up to what I expected from them. The Cullen family is perfect. That's all I can say. They feel on screen, just as they felt in the book. Warm, loving, caring... but also visceral, strong, powerful. They take to Bella and accept her in to their family, and it's some of these scenes with all of them together that the movie really comes together. The baseball game was awesome, funny, and done really well. I'd actually say this is probably the stand out scene to me, as far as surpassing the book. The scenes with the whole family together make me look forward to more movies, since we know they're a much bigger role later down the line. I would've liked to see Elizabeth Reeser on screen a little more, but I know the role of Esme will come along stronger later on.

The only other realistic complain I have about the movie is Cam Gigandet. I don't understand how this guy continues to find work. He has an imposing, almost scary look to him, which fits him well since he's type casted as a badguy at this point his career... but this guy is a terrible actor. He portrayed James as someone much more hardened and sharp as he should have been. James is a tracker, he hunts for hobby and makes a game out of it, and where we should've seen him actually hunting and putting together his master plan to catch Bella, we instead get a shot of him barreling through some woods, and then suddenly in Phoenix with his whole plan worked out. I guess this is another one of those Book > Film situations where some things had to be cut for time. It just left a bad impression on me.

All in all, the movie really did surpass my expectations. I'm not surprised by some of the stupid reviews I've read, because some people refuse to just enjoy something for what it is. The book isn't canon, and in a film you're going to see some poetic license. Either way, I give Catherine Hardwicke kudos for the way she directed the film. Sure, it looks like just all her other work, but at the same time it's so very different and beautiful. The score is mediocre at best, based mostly off of author Stephanie Mayer's personal playlist while writing the book. It could've been worse though I guess. If you're a fan of the books, try and have an open mind going in to it. Don't look at it like the book is canon and unchangeable. Look at it as a different way of telling your favorite story. Enjoy it for what it is, which is a good, down to earth, enjoyable vampire romance movie. It's a classic tale of forbidden love, set with a contemporary theme, and it's well done. I look forward to the next one, and hopefully two more after that. If the studio is smart, they won't waste any time getting all three in to production before anyone gets any older. If 70 million dollars is any indication of how serious the fans are, they'll listen to my advice.

Go see Twilight, in theaters everywhere right now, and then come back here and sound off in the comments section. Hope you enjoyed my review!

How to Have a Honeymoon For Under $30 - $28.14 to be Exact!

Well, former writer Devon is gone from DevonLohan.com, and shockingly to all (Devon himself mainly) this blog was not named after him, is not a tribute to him, and in no way makes him a celebrity. In fact, for those who would like to know, fellow DL writer G.C. came up the name, after we had to hear thousands of times how much Devon loved Perez Hilton. As a play on the whole situation, we picked our own "headline making" celeb last name, and put a gay first name for the first part, and BAM, DevonLohan.com was born. Someone in all this, Devon believed HE was now a celebrity near the level of Perez Hilton, and the diva attitude swung into full force. Well reality has kicked in, the back story is out, and DevonLohan.com keeps rolling as a comical site with no diva attitude in our writers, but Devon has lashed out due to his dismissal, hence the reason for this post. In an earlier conversation, he accused me of making enough money on this blog to fund a honeymoon. WOW. Not sure how many of you out there keep up with traffic numbers, how adsense works, other affiliates, etc. (Anyone who's taken about 10 minutes to learn about what kind of traffic numbers it takes to make any real money can easily see our site is not exactly a cash cow.) But for the record, this site has taken a long time to achieve minimal success, and our crew understands that and we're realists about it, we don't plan on being millionaires overnight if at all. The whole idea was to have an entertainment site, and if we can make some extra side money off of it eventually, SURE why not, in the meantime, we're not planning on it to be our primary job to bank off. BUT for anyone that doubts and thinks we have some secret stash ::cough:: DEVON ::cough:: We'll give you the break down right here...

I'm letting the cat out of the bag on this one......all my banners, affiliates, advertising, everything, adds up to an all time earth shattering $28.14! WOW, according to Devon, I can fund a honeymoon, to FLORIDA no less, for only $28.14! The truth is, while trying to uncover why our entire site was suddenly deleted 2 nights ago, I tried getting a confession out of Devon, and told him i relied on the site for a portion of my income, in which he totally believed without looking at any numbers or facts, and jumped ALL over it, exposing me for funding honeymoons with the other writers hard work! The truth is out, all this time I've been stashing away my 28 bucks for my honeymoon, i know this deeply saddens my writing staff, and for that I apologize. If not for Devon, I'd have been partying it up in Florida with my 28 bucks, living the life, but now that it's out, a huge weight has definitely been lifted. But now since the WHOLE 28 bucks (and 14 cents) are going to my honeymoon (hell I'll prob pay for the wedding with it too, why not? Right?) I've got no beer money. So if you'd look to the right, you'll see I've set up a beer fund, and will accept donations, since even though my honeymoon is funded, I do need a beer every now and then, and G.C. and Random Villain DEFINITELY do, as I took the whole 28 bucks for myself. So if you can somehow forgive that this site has made a grand total of 28 bucks secretly, head on over and buy us a beer!

Thank those of you who remain loyal in this trying and scandalous time.

Farewell Devon of DevonLohan.com

Dearly Departed,

We are gathered here today, to bid farewell, to this roody poo, candy ass. Devon was a whiney little bitch, he posted, random blogs about, Kevin Costner, Rosie O Donnell, and his friends crappy short films. He claimed shit was his own, even though we thought of it first. He was against posting smut, until I created the NSFW forum and was bringing in hits, he jumped and grabbed onto my coat tails and started posting "smut". And well, he tried to deny all this but, you can not hide from the truth. Facts hurt, truths hurt, and for the 47th time since this blog has been opened, Devon has "quit". See Poor ol Devon would get mad cause I would make fun of his double chins, he would send messages to the other members of this blog crying and complaining about me. No one would care. So as usual, he would quit, cry, take down images, run away, cut, drink wine, listen to shitty emo music. Then come back the next day.

Well this was mostly seen by other members last night, as I was MIA playing in GameSpot tournament for PS3, which I will post about later, as a warning to all to never do a tournament for this retards. But last night the entire blog shut down. Blogger had to restore all our blogs. Images were lost. The annoying part was a major ad company had finally picked up our blog yesterday. Our first night with said company, was lost due to SOMEONE deleting everything. Well all fingers point to someone, but I wont name who, but their name rhymes with Bevon.

Well in closing, Devon has quit, but this time, he will not be welcomed back to the blog. So post your comments on his farewell, your thoughts, your good riddance, or your I miss yous.

Devon, Bye you tubby tub of gooey goo. Smooches!

UPDATE: MASHES TOYS TOGETHER

Devon and DMoney who runs the site, just had a little convo. Read on for some hilarious things, such as, Devon claiming his pink face on our message boards has somehow brought us money. Read on for a good chuckle.

Devon: Obviously I have no say over you keeping my name in your site, since it's with a different last name. But legally you're not entitled to use my image on your message board, especially not without my consent, since your message board is a subsidiary of your blog, which does turn a profit.
Devon: I'm parting ways clean. Dunno why I was deleted, or any of that shit... but whatever.
Devon: I just want my face off your board.
DMoney: u werent deleted.....whatever u did deleted urself
DMoney: when i got the blog restored u were gone
DMoney: so dont come at me with shit
Devon: I didn't do anything. That's my point.
DMoney: then talk to gmail or blogger about it

Devon: You and I weren't the only admins on that blog.
DMoney: on UWR?
DMoney: yeah we were
Devon: DL.
DMoney: well ALL the blogs u were on got deleted
Devon: either way, I'm over it.
DMoney: and someone cannot delete ur gmail
DMoney: or take your images off photobucket
Devon: Some dude who was about to do a link up with you is IMing me asking me to come write for him.
Devon: I took my images off after the fact.
DMoney: why? Guilty?
Devon: OF WHAT?! More like pissed off and betrayed.
DMoney: lmao.......for WHAT?
DMoney: MY blogs were deleted......I had to have google fix shit for me.......when it wass back you were GONE
DMoney: period
Devon: like I said man, just take my fuckin face off your board, and we go our separate ways. Otherwise I'll take legal action. It's part of an income producing website, and you're using my image without consent. Period.
DMoney: my board doesnt make jack shit
DMoney: think b4 u speak
DMoney: i'll have obj look at everything
DMoney: you dont want to go there with us
Devon: right, but it's a subsidiary of your site.
DMoney: its linked to it, not a subsidary of shit
Devon: I know what I'm talking about. It's under the same name.
DMoney: it is? funny i read BOILER ROOM BOARD
Devon: Why the fuck would you want my face all over your board anyhow?!
DMoney: . PROBOARDS
DMoney: no one fuckin knows its you, its a pink fuckin face
DMoney: get over yourself
Devon: Because you all didn't have jack shit without my image to sell.
DMoney: your not a god damn celebrity cause a fuckin site has your FIRST NAME

Devon: Go for it.
DMoney: good god, u've got MAJOR issues
Devon: I'll have my attorney contact Blogger and Proboards. Ciao.
Devon signed off at 2:22 P.M.

Oh that wacky Devon.

  • You need to have a good sense of the entertainment scene. Be in the know, and be up to date on breaking stories and scandals.
  • Be consistent. We need someone who is willing to take the time to write something worthwhile, and write it often. The more posts we get up during the day, the better.
If you think you can meet these requirements, shoot us an email at UltraBlogs@aol.com. Please include a sample story, and in the subject line put DEVONLOHAN TRYOUT.

Perez Who!? Ultra Entertainment Presents: DevonLohan.com

I'm sure you all have noticed the change of scenery around here.....many you are probably saying "What the hell happened to Ultra Entertainment?!"....Well, this is our call to action! After 300 posts here on this blog, we've come a long way, and learned many things. We've strived to provide with our readers with a huge variety of topics, and we've listened to what our readers want, and given them more of it. Yet still, we've yet to reach the level we want as far as subscribers and all around notoriety on the net. For months we've looked at everything, and saw that one of our problems was our name. Not catchy enough...too long...etc. etc. When we first started this project, it was more of an experiment, so a lot of these factors didn't mean much to us. Well now we're taking it to the next level, so it's time for some changes. I'm sure one big question is: "What's with the name and colors?" Well, after seeing how big time some nobody can get by simply throwing a famous name behind his, well we can do the same damn thing, without the overly gay vibe thrown all over EVERYthing. On top of that, we can even go pink, that's right, we can use a famous name and be pink, and still be the spot for all your STRAIGHT entertainment news. You can come here, and see pics of hot women just like the other sites, except we'll be featuring the hot women and not talking about how we wish we WERE those hot women. And we're not ONLY about Hollywood. As always we will bring you sports, politics, music, video games, pop culture, pretty much whatever the hell we want, which has always been our style. So, spread the word, DevonLohan.com is the place to be if you want entertainment, without the gay. You are no longer forced to be annoyed while enjoying your entertainment, and you can feel totally ungay while reading this site. So visit often, please subscribe to DevonLohan.com on the right, tell your friends, post our site all over the net, AND remember........Lohan>Hilton!
