Today in: Unnecessary Reboots!

Robert Rodriguez announced at a press conference earlier today in Texas:

“I’m going to be able to shoot my upcoming Machete here, a sci-fi action film called Nervewrackers, a re-boot of the Predator series called Predators, and a couple of smaller movies called Sin City 2 and The Jetsons.”

The title being "Predators" gives the idea that the movie will involve more than one of the creatures. Filming will unfortunately be done at 20th Century FOX and this was the original rumored pitch for the film:

“a team of commandos face down a mysterious race of vicious monsters.”

I'm all for Sin City 2 and even a live action Jetsons sounds awesome, but do we really need a Predators reboot? Especially considering they still make AvP movies!

    Devon....

Have you fuckin SEEN the A vs P movies?

YES, Predator needs a reboot. Fucks sake it needs it badly. Rodriguez will make it R rated unlike the first A vs P movie, and will add something both those movies lacked, entertainment.

And then I guess he promptly removed it, since he knew I would come in here and kick his face inside out for saying that Predator was shitty.

  3. Well that was my point in the first place, that the originals were so good they didn't NEED a reboot. Fuck the AvP movies. I didn't even watch that 2nd one. Shit, I don't think I watched the whole 1st one!

  4. Well the first one is a classic. The 2nd one is, meh. the AVP movies are ASS. So yeah, reboot those movies. Worked for Batman.

  5. I removed it for other reasons, but partially because I didn't mean Predator was one of the shitty movies. I was thinking of other ones. Anyway, it works both ways. I don't want to see crap movies remade, because they were terrible for a reason. Plus I don't want to see GOOD movies remade because they were good the way they were and they were not that long ago. Anything from the 80s is like a new movie to me.
